Getov is an architect and partner in Studio Antares, Los Angeles, as well as Visiting Associate Professor of Practice in Architecture at the UA. As a collaborative practice, Studio Antares seeks integration between architecture, arts and environment. Getov graduated with honors from the Higher Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Sofia, Bulgaria, and holds a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles. From 1991 to 1997 he worked for Richard Meier & Partners on The Getty Center in Los Angeles. From 1997 to 2002, while an associate with NBBJ Architects, Getov was responsible for the delivery of several large-scale projects, including the Dodge Theater in Phoenix. From 2002 to 2007, as a director at Morphosis Architects, he was the lead architect for Caltrans, the highly-accalimed headquarters of the California Dept. of Transportation in Los Angeles, the Multiple Housing Project in Madrid, and the New Academic Building for The Cooper Union in New York. He has lectured at numerous universities and institutions throughout the U.S. and is currently designing projects at various scales in Europe, Los Angeles and New York.
