Profile:

Patrick Hwang joined the UA School of Architecture faculty in 2009.  He holds  Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University.  He is a registered architect in the State of New York.   His professional experience has been with Kohn Pedersen Fox and Rafael Viñoly Architects in New York and Michael Maltzan Architecture and Gehry Partners in Los Angeles.  During Patrick's eleven years of practice, he has been engaged in the design of various theoretical and built project types,  ranging from civic, cultural and commercial to residential.  His most recent engagements include the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, Maggie Center in Hong Kong, Fresno Metropolitan Museum in Fresno, Rainbow Housing in Los Angeles and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.  Through practice Patrick has acquired broad empirical knowledge in the areas of complex building enclosure design and integrated building information modeling systems.
